Water retaining granules, radishes, sea salt and butter

Made by Hanging Garden Range, water storage granules are the very thing for making the best use of every drop of H2O. Expensive( about £6 ) but you only need a teaspoonful or so per plant pot. Otherwise the precious water just leaks out the bottom . I will try them in the sweet pea trench next year. They are sometimes sold off at B and Q at the end of the summer.
Summer starter-radishes(any sort, but not too big) washed and trimmed, then left for an hour or so in ice cold water. Drain and dry, then serve with a small pat of unsalted butter per person and a little pile of sea salt on each plate. These are so good that nobody talks

  1. That starter sounds too easy to be true. Must give it a try.
